Mein Freiwilligendienst in Ghana

Sixth month report – Leon Wilken – 09.02.2016

I am here since six month. The New Year has started very well. I had my birthday, in small in Komenda.
At the 16th Lois came back and brought some Letters from my parents. We are happy to have him back.
The workshops started at the 18th. The start went well. We got a new school, the Essaman JHS in Atawasi. The start of the workshop in Atawasi is very good.
At the 29th of January we travelled to Kumasi for our midseminar of weltwaerts. The seminar was very good. We met a lot of other volunteers from Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Togo and Benin. The talks with them were very good.
The seminar goes on to the 5th of February.
During the seminar I thought about what to do in the next time and got the Idea to start a sewing workshop in the Trainingcenter. I will try to make this possible.
I’m planning on the holidays with my parents and seeing forward to it.
I feel homesick a lot, but I also don’t want it to change my living in a negative way. So I always think I have done it to now, in the result it can’t be a big challenge to enjoy the rest.
I hope the second part of my voluntary service becomes even better than the first nice half.
